How does menopause affect the skin?
Our skin can really change as head into perimenopause and menopause. One of the most noticeable changes to your skin may be that it becomes drier and more sensitive to the products that you use, such as soap, bubble bath, moisturiser, face creams and so on. Because estrogen is related to the production of collagen, which is an essential building block of the skin, its depletion can cause texture, elasticity, and tone to change. Often we find that our lives are extra stressful at this time of our lives too which can also cause havoc on our skin.
Here are a few small changes you can make to help calm your skin & unwind your mind.
Make time in your day to look after yourselves.
Create small moments of 'me time' in your busy lives. This is particularly important if you're stressed, peri-menopausal or menopausal because our skin and bodies are under pressure so we may be feeling more anxious than usual.
Small lifestyle changes can help.
Keeping up water intake, sleeping more, eating plenty of antioxidants, avoiding too much caffeine and alcohol can help, but let's be honest - none of us are perfect. We both carry large water bottles everywhere we go with the mission to empty them throughout the day. Neither of us has been able to give up that first coffee in the morning though!
When skin is feeling unsettled.
Use gentle skincare products that won’t strip the skin, as this will lead to dryness and irritation. Our skincare kits are always great value and are jam-packed with some of the most wonderful ingredients that nature has in its armoury to restore skin back to health. You can choose between our CALM, GLOW or REBALANCE KITS. Massaging our products into the skin feels like an at-home spa experience and offers the perfect opportunity for some well deserved me-time to give you some space in your day to really treat yourself.
Take time to talk.
If you’re struggling with anxiety, lack of sleep, aching joints or generally feeling out of sorts it can be helpful to join a FB group where you can share your symptoms, read about others issues and just chat. A kind message from a stranger can be really uplifting and plenty of people have made great new friends this way too!

Much love,
