I’ve tried a few non chemical sunscreens over the past few years. Husk and Seed is most definitely the best. Beautiful smell, easy to apply and absorbs into the skin giving the skin a drink at the same time as providing sunscreen. There is no residual white chalk, I absolutely 💯 recommend this product.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the customer service from this company has been so great that I felt compelled to write one. They’ve been incredibly helpful in answering my questions and following up on my concerns-they’re clearly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about their product. My only small gripe is the bottle-it has a lid, but also a separate stopper to prevent leaks, which makes it a bit fiddly to use. There’s usually a little overspill too, as once you’ve applied the product there’s often some left in the opening, so when you put the stopper back in it can spill over. That said, I haven’t reduced my star rating because of this-the product itself is so great. It smells like a spa treat every time you apply! I’m really glad I chose it over the others I was considering-and I did a lot of research (definitely went down the sunscreen rabbit hole for a while!).

Love this product! The sunscreen has a light and runny texture that absorbs well into the skin. It is not claggy, nor does it leave a white cast. Feels great knowing we are using a natural product on our young family's skin.

I’ve bought this sunscreen before and really like it. I was originally attracted to Husky and Seed, because I was looking for a zinc- based sunscreen that worked and was safe. I was hooked from the word go. The texture feels rich and it’s really easy to apply. My previous purchases have been in aluminium or glass containers and this one is in quite a heavy glass one. I haven’t used it yet so can’t comment on the container itself, but I have to say I really liked the aluminium one. I took it to Australia, where I spent 2 months in the middle of their summer, and I found the large container safe and easy to transport. I carried a smaller container with me in my bag to re-apply during the day. The carrying bag with this latest purchase is a great idea and I would definitely have used that in Australia if I had had it then . Because I never had an issue with the aluminium container, I was disappointed to receive an email from Husk and Seed today, saying that they are abandoning their glass and aluminium containers and introducing polypropylene ones. They may be recyclable, but to me they are a retrograde step for a company that prides itself on ethical values. Maybe the glass ones have been causing problems, I don’t know yet, but I shall be holding onto my all aluminium ones and decanting the sunscreen into them if I can.

We love our glass and aluminium too, but for our Sunscreen, we’ve moved to airless pumps for a few vital reasons: Our rich, thick formula was constantly clogging traditional pumps in glass/aluminium. This new packaging ensures a smooth, reliable dispense every time. The airless system also extends the natural shelf life of the sunscreen so there is less wastage. The airless pumps are much lighter for your travel bag and much less likely to be damaged. With the new UK "Simpler Recycling" rules launching this month, PP is now one of the most widely and easily recycled "mono-materials" in your household bin. You can also return the bottles to us and we send them to a company who turns the materials into children's school chairs. We see this as the "best-fit" for the planet and the product's shelf life. However, we always listen to our community—if you’d strongly prefer your next order in glass, just reach out and we’ll happily make an exception for you!

My skin has suddenly developed a tendency to react to sunscreens I’ve been using for years. Also, I’ve become increasingly aware of the potentially harmful chemicals that I’m spreading on my skin every time I apply factor 50+. To find a factor 50+ which is mineral based and doesn’t cause an itchy rash has been a revelation. I also tried a sample of the factor 30 with essential oils in, and even that hasn’t caused my skin to react, so I’m impressed. And the aroma is lovely - really calming. I also like the fact that the little bottles are refillable from the large sizes and I can pop one in my handbag. All I need now is some sunshine!
Easy to apply and not as sticky or oily as some sunscreens
Loved it but please be aware when I tipped it up after giving it a shake Iwas expecting it to be a lot thicker than it was,and lost quite a bit on the floor as it is quite runny.

The best sun protection is always to cover up or stay in the shade. However, if you have no other option and find yourself exposed to the sun for a prolonged period, this body SPF is definitely the next best thing. I really love that it’s made with natural ingredients, which is a big plus for me, and it smells absolutely gorgeous. I recently put it to the test on a tropical holiday in the Caribbean, and I can confidently say—it works! That said, there are a few areas where this product could be improved. Initially, I struggled to find the best before date. I eventually noticed a tiny sticker on the bottom of the bottle with what appears to be the batch number and BBE date. Unfortunately, the sticker was loose and nearly came off, so I had to tape it down myself. It would be much more practical if this information was printed directly on the label. Another point is the lack of clarity around the use-by period after opening. I usually look for the standard “open jar” symbol with a timeframe, but it’s not present here. Instead, there’s an egg-timer symbol with a number and “BBE” underneath—presumably the equivalent, but it’s not very intuitive. The biggest downside for me is the packaging. The product is quite runny and tends to leak when carried in a bag, especially if it’s not kept upright. This is definitely something to be mindful of if you’re on the go. Overall, this is a great product for those times when you need reliable sun protection beyond what your natural skin tone allows before burning. With a few packaging and labeling improvements, it could be excellent.

We’re delighted that you loved the natural ingredients, the scent, and that the SPF worked so well during your Caribbean holiday. We completely understand your point about the BBE sticker being on the bottom rather than on the main label. However, because our products are made fresh, the best before date can’t go directly on the main label, but we agree that a sturdier, more visible sticker would make it easier to see, and we’ll look into improving this. The egg timer icon on the main label, indicating the period-after-opening (PAO), is a standard, legally required feature for products with a shelf life of 12 months or less. The “12” shows that the product remains good for 12 months after opening. In contrast, the open jar symbol is more widely recognised, as it is generally used on products with longer shelf lives, which often contain synthetic preservatives - something our products do not. With regards to the leaking, the bottle comes with a protective plug (that fits into the hole where the SPF is pumped out) to prevent leakage during travel. Hopefully you received it? Loved the way this soaked into my skin with no white residue which was great. All the mineral sunscreens I have used before leave me looking like Casper 👻. The protection was excellent, was out in 33 degree sun all day got lovely tan and I am very fair. Negatives are it’s very costly and the smell turns to a mushroom scent after about an hour, which I really didn’t like. I am in a dilemma whether to get this again purely due to scent and price.
My fave is the face sunscreen! I find the body a bit runny to be honest, but so hard to find a chemical free sunscreen so will be using & I do love the smell. Received a free gift too of beautiful body scrub that smells divine 💜🌟
Suncream is a little runny for me and I do think it's a bit expensive,probably wouldn't buy it again sorry
I wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it didn’t love me. I am currently in a very hot country and my skin became very dry and itchy, and my neck and chest came out in a rash. Everyone’s skin is different and sadly it just didn’t work for me. All the other products have been great though. What has been amazing is that when i messaged to ask about this I got a reply within the hour.

Great texture but has quite a few allergens in that brought me out in a rash unfortunately.
I'm afraid I really didn't get on with this mineral body sunscreen: it is unbelievably runny, more like water, and very greasy. It left oily marks on my clothes despite me having tried my best to rub it in. The product is so liquid that it fails to dispense from the bottle efficiently, running down the side of the container. Need to hold it very closely over the area to be treated but then immediately rub in as it runs down the arm/leg. Made the mistake of shaking the bottle first: the sunscreen escaped the bottle itself up into the lid, which is wasteful. I won't be using the rest of the bottle, going back to my old mineral sunscreen from another brand unfortunately.
